Our Art Box " Octopus Art Box" are thoughtfully ideated by Vancouver-based artist Maggie Chow. Her creative space breaks the conventional art-studio mold; Maggie believes that artists of all ages should never stop learning, and she spearheads the creation of playful opportunities for people to expand their thinking from fresh new perspectives. Maggie has been serving the community with inspired art programs and events for over 35 years. Her practice is most significantly influenced by the Reggio Emilia philosophy. Maggie previously held positions at Robert Bateman Foundation’s Nature Sketch program and artist educator with GOLDEN Artist Paints. She recently voluteer for NatureKids BC to promote eco-literacy and inspire appreciation of the natural world. In addition to her life as a professional artist, Maggie operates a small-scale art organization; Arts and Play Society, through which she shares her practices and passion for Early Years Learning in Art and Art Education in different social contexts. She served on the Board of Directors for the Vancouver Reggio Association and supported the work to provide professional development opportunities for educators. Maggie is an active member of the International Expressive Arts Therapy Association, National Art Education Association and certified Forest Bathing Guide.
