A first-generation settler of Chinese heritage. She nestled in South Okanagan on traditional territories, the Syilx People of the Okanagan Nation. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eHer works link to the environment's life cycle with the inspiration of nature’s leftovers. Impermanence, change and degeneration play a large part in the process of thinking and making her work. Her recent works are reflected in her paintings and the memories of her childhood, lived experiences, and traditional approaches to Chinese calligraphy. She seeks to transform calligraphy practice into a third teacher as a therapeutic experience to heal the body and mind.  She intends to capture the energy of mindfulness between the brush strokes to bring a new dimension to view from east to west, offering a new connection and contemplation.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eMaggie paints in her studios in Kaleden and teaches at Penticton Art Gallery.
